A quality instrument is requisite. An electronic keyboard with weighted keys will suffice for lessons and is preferred over a poorly maintained acoustic instrument. However, acoustic sound waves from a piano are different from digitally produced sound waves of an electronic keyboard, which makes a difference when it comes to how students hear, feel, experience, remember and connect sound. It is important that acoustic upright and grand pianos are tuned at least annually to maintain their value and effectiveness.

Recommended Piano Dealers:
Steinway Hall Fort Worth, Metroplex Piano Keller,
McBrayer's Award Piano

Electronic Keyboards:
The dealers above carry the best digital pianos as well. If you are looking for a good entry-level keyboard on a lower budget we recommend the Yamaha P-45 for starter lessons or practice at home.
You will also need a keyboard stand and a basic adjustable bench. These items are pictured below.

What Our Clients Are Saying

"My three children have taken lessons with Aspiring Minds teachers for the past 2 years. They have been taking lessons for almost 10 years in total and have had other teachers but none the caliber of the Aspiring Minds teachers! They are exceptional at working with each child and helping to see their strengths and weaknesses."
