ASPIRING MINDS LESSON POLICIES AND AGREEMENT

Philosophy Brief
Piano lessons can bring lifelong musical satisfaction when students have developed music literacy, proper technique, a well-trained ear and a thorough understanding of music theory. We aspire to create artistic excellence, develop comprehension through a growth mindset, and to help students find personal fulfillment through the study of piano music.

Group Lesson Structure
Lessons are taught to groups of 4 students at a time. Each class is 30 minutes in length and the cost is $15 per student per class. This covers rental fees to KISD, insurance, payment to instructor and administrative operations. Total cost per semester is approximately $210.

Registration, Recital, and Book Fee
A $30 annual fee includes registration, a lesson book and a recital including facility rental, piano tuning, insurance coverage, student rewards, and teachers’ supplemental materials. Additional and lost books may be purchased at aspiringmindsfw.com
Registration must be completed online at:

Recitals
Students are expected to participate in a year-end recital organized by Aspiring Minds Music Lessons, LLC. This year’s recital will be held Saturday, May 2, 2020 at the Fossil Ridge High School Choir Room.

Instrument
Students should have a fully functioning, in-tune piano or keyboard to practice on at home. An instrument with 88 weighted keys is preferred, for proper development of coordination and technique.

Home Practice Space and Materials
Students should have a quiet, well-lit area free from distractions to concentrate during practice time at home. Students need to bring their Lesson Book and a blank notebook, every class, to record assignments and practice notes.

Lesson Calendar
During the school year, lessons follow the KISD calendar begin after Labor Day and end before Memorial Day. There will be no lessons the weeks of State Assessments, nor during the four Holiday/Vacation weeks (see below). For a visual calendar, please refer to the “KISD Calendar” page at www.aspiringmindsfw.com. Specific lesson days and times will vary, depending on teacher and campus availability, and grade levels.

Holidays/Vacation
There will be no lessons during the weeks of Thanksgiving, Christmas (two weeks), and Spring Break. Please refer to the “KISD Calendar” page at www.aspiringmindsfw.com.

Payment Due Dates and Late Payment Fees
Tuition payments are due twice per semester. The first payment will be due September 13, and the second payment will be due November 1. You may log into the website to make payment or pay from the electronic invoice we will email in advance. If payment has not been received by the due date, a $15 late fee will be assessed with no options for refund.

If you are unable to log in using your username and password and you have not received your invoice 5 days prior to the due date, check your spam folder, then send us an email at [email protected] to request it again.

Lesson Cancellation, Rescheduling and Make-Up Lessons
There are no refunds for missed lessons, for any reason, unless the teacher cancels less than 24 hours in advance. The appointment time has been reserved expressly for your class. If a teacher has a prior professional commitment, a substitute teacher will be arranged in advance.

Early Termination and Refunds
Students are required to remain in lessons for an entire semester. By signing the agreement, you agree to pay for the entire semester and have your student attend all classes. The only way to keep this program funded and functioning for your campus is by respecting this rule.

Semester 1 lasts September-December, and Semester 2 lasts January-May. If you wish to discontinue lessons for the second Semester, there is no termination fee but you must give 1 month advance notice to the teacher AND the company ([email protected]). For example, if you wish to stop lessons in January, the instructor AND the company must be notified by December 1. No refunds will be granted for a January bill, if early termination was not communicated to both the teacher and company by December 1.
